Hello School District of Flambeau Staff and Community Members,
I have attached Governor Ever's Safer At Home plan and it clearly states that we do need to stay home. I truly hope that all of us are following these rules to stay home to prevent transmission. I am so thankful to live in a rural community that so far doesn't have any cases of Covid-19 but I'm not convinced that we are free and clear of it getting into our community.
Jodi Zimmer, Middle/High School Guidance Counselor and I took 13 girls from our HOSA, now HOSAF, group on a field trip in January to visit what happens to the blood collected once we have a blood drive at the school. This was an eye opening trip for me because I asked "Where is all the blood?" The shelves were nearly empty at that time and can only imagine what they look like now!
If you are like me, you are probably asking "What can I do?", my answer is donate blood! If you have donated before, you know that the Red Cross has many rules and regulations to protect themselves and the donors. They have even stricter rules in place for donations now. We are changing the blood drive we had scheduled for this Friday at the school to the St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church in Tony to Monday, April 13th. Please let me know if you can donate. The best way to contact me is at the email address listed below if you would like to make an appointment to donate blood.
