. Graduate from their local high school or receive their GED. 2. Display average or above average academic records. 3. Parent(s)/legal guardian of dependent student, or self must be an active member of JREC and presently receive electric service. 4. Display potential to successfully continue achievement in a post-secondary school program which will lead to a diploma in Energy, Agriculture, or Environmental field of work. Eligible career paths include, but are not limited to: • Energy: Careers in renewable energy (solar, wind, hydroelectric), energy management, electrical lineworker, electrical or nuclear engineering, power plant operations, and solar project developer. • Agriculture: Careers in sustainable farming, agribusiness, agricultural engineering, food production, and resource management. • Environmental: Careers in environmental science or engineering, energy efficiency consulting, sustainability consulting, environmental education, and conservation scientists. 5. Family income should not be a deciding factor. 6. Priority will be given to any applicant who has participated in the Youth Leadership Congress, or any youth program offered by JREC. |
